Dr. Amal Ghosh
Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Amal Ghosh was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in January 2020, Chief Technology Officer in 2018 and Senior Vice President of Research and Development in 2009. Prior to joining eMagin Corporation, he was with Eastman Kodak Company as Program Manager, involved with the development of OLED display technology. Dr. Ghosh also contributed to numerous programs involving semiconductor technology and LCD displays while at IBM Corporation, both at the T. J. Watson Research Center and at the Microelectronics Division. He has more than 30 years of industrial experience and has held numerous technical and management positions.
In 2019, Dr. Ghosh received the Karl Ferdinand Braun Prize from Society for Information Display (SID), which is the highest level of award given out by SID for technology innovation. In 2009, he received the SID Mid-Atlantic Chapter award for leadership, dedication and service to the chapter and was also elected a Fellow of the society. In 2003, he received SID’s Special Recognition Award for his work in the field of OLEDs and FEDs.
Dr. Ghosh was the President of SID during 2014-2016. He was a member of the Board of Directors of SID from 2006 through 2018. From 2017-2019 he was an Adjunct Professor at Columbia University’s department of Electrical Engineering. He obtained a Ph.D. degree in Physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA.
