High-Resolution Tiled OLED Microdisplays
eMagin has demonstrated both UXGA (1600 x1200) and 2-UXGA (1600 x 2400) microdisplay configurations. We offer custom high-resolution tiled OLED microdisplays that employ the magnifying properties of optical fiber tapers to raise and expand image segments so that they appear as one combined, very high resolution image. The images from standard SVGA displays can be expanded optically and positioned so that several displays can be tiled together and create extremely high resolutions and custom configurations (for example, the 1600 x 2400 2-UXGA prototype). Precision machining of the tapers keeps the joint lines very small, typically three pixels or smaller. The microdisplays can be tiled in many combinations to meet unique requirements for resolution, size, aspect ratio, and surface curvature.
